Ruby & Travis - Wedding Highlight Film

When we first found out that we would be traveling to Aspen this summer to film Ruby and Travis’ big day, we were super excited. As it is, we need very little excuse to travel to that part of Colorado — it is so incredibly beautiful, even by Colorado standards. The morning of their wedding, we drove over Independence Pass and caught a window of sunny weather to fly our drone. This turned out to be very fortuitous, as the rest of the day’s weather was mostly rainy. In spite of the rain, we had a blast driving around with Ruby and Travis to some of their favorite spots around Aspen for their first look and then for some couples portraits afterwards. Though it’s not what most couples hope for on their wedding day, rainy weather can make for some of the prettiest lighting and video footage. So with umbrellas and raincoats in tow, everyone braved the rain with smiles on their faces and joy in their hearts. Their ceremony was one of our favorites all year — both because of the rain aesthetically, and also because of their heartfelt personalized vows.

Elise & Chase - Wedding Highlight Film

Today we are so pleased to be sharing Elise and Chase’s wedding highlight film at Deer Creek Valley Ranch in Bailey, Colorado. This day left us feeling that kind of inner warmth and peace you feel when you go home — a feeling reminiscent of family reunions, home cooked meals, or Grandma’s cookies. It wasn’t the type of wedding where everything was decadent and polished, but rather had a beautiful, rustic and intimate simplicity to it. It was so sweet to witness this special day from those early morning butterflies, to joyous dancing in the warm barn light. We are so happy for you — Chase, Elise and your adorable kids. It was a privilege to witness this special day for your family, and we wish you all the best!

Brit & Zach - Wedding Highlights

This was one of the weddings I was looking forward to most all summer, and I’m so excited to finally get to share it! Brit and Zach’s wedding at the Lyons Farmette was one of the most visually perfect weddings I’ve ever gotten to shoot. It’s hard to put into words, but I don’t think I’ve ever shot a wedding where the decor, the clothes, the details and the venue were more perfectly suited to the bride and groom. Every little detail was in perfect harmony, and it all served to point a spotlight on this absolutely wonderful couple. Brit and Zach were amazing to work with, and their lighthearted playful attitudes made the day so much fun for us!

Lamar & Brooks - Wedding Highlights

It can be hard to put into words exactly what makes a wedding day so special and magical. Was it the stunningly elegant wedding dress that Lamar wore with such grace? Was it the entourage of teary bridesmaids and grinning groomsmen? Was it the twinkling fairy light floral arches? Was it the warmth and love that beamed from gathered loved ones as they shared their first kiss? Or was it the way that Brooks and Lamar only had eyes for each other from the moment she walked down the aisle? We strongly believe that there is no “one” recipe for a wedding “done right,” but sometime the right ingredients really come together in a profoundly meaningful way.

Lamar and Brooks, thank you for letting us share in this significant time in your lives. We are honored to have helped to capture this special chapter of your story together. We wish you all the best in the years to come.

Allison & Stefan - Wedding Highlights

Shooting at the ski resorts is certainly one of the more unique joys of being wedding videographer in Colorado. Weddings are always already brimming with gorgeous decorations and food and then you get to add panoramic mountain vistas and alpine forests. The natural landscape makes a magnificent setting for the joy and emotion of weddings. Allison and Stefan’s wedding was no exception! They had a lovely ceremony part way up the mountain on the deck of the brand new Koko’s Hut, situated in a lush meadow. All of the bridesmaids and the bride herself rode up the chair lift one by one and walked straight down the aisle, which was so cool!

Yulee and David - Wedding Highlight Film

Yulee and David's Palo Alto wedding was one of the highlights of our summer for so many reasons!

Yulee and David found us by way of a recommendation from the incredibly talented Katie from Katie Photographie. Katie and her husband are some of my dearest friends, and of all of the photographers I've ever worked with, she is one of ones whose work I respect most. She's had me on her videographer recommendations list for years, but most couples don't want to fly a videographer out to the bay area from Colorado, so we hadn't had the chance to work together since 2012. It was so exciting when Yulee and David contacted me and decided to fly us out to capture their wedding! Their wedding was an opportunity to travel out of state, work with one of my favorite photographers on earth, and capture the beautiful wedding of a truly wonderful couple. 

Yulee and David were such a fun couple to get to spend a day (and then a couple weeks in front of a computer) with! Their wedding hit every note that I feel a wedding should. It was filled to the brim with smiles, laughter, tender moments, goofy jokes, music, dancing, and so much more. Every second of the day was a reflection of the couple's personalities and love for each other, and the wedding was so much fun to shoot and edit.

Yulee and David, thank you so much for bringing us out to California!. It was a joy and a blessing to us in so many ways. You two were both so great to work with, and it was such a pleasure to get to capture your wedding!

Justine and Jeff - Wedding Highlight Film

When we shoot weddings so often there are moments where you just have to step back, in awe of what you are getting to witness and be a part of. Moments that make you realize how a wedding day is more than just the act of getting married, more than just the beautiful decorations, the traditions observed and the party. Weddings are a celebration of a relationship that has taken a long time to grow, faced challenges, had hopes and dreams, and now is at this single moment that is the culmination of all of that. 

Justine and Jeff's recounting of the long and winding path that brought them together is simply captivating. On their wedding day, they each read notes from one another each describing the nearly decade long path it took for them to reach their wedding day, the notes mirroring each other almost line for line at parts. As we sat down to figure out how to put this video together and how to tell the story of their wedding, we quickly realized that they had already done the storytelling for us, and that the wedding was the end of one volume of their lives, and the joyous start of the next. 

Justine and Jeff, thank you so much for letting us be a part of your wedding. Thanks for letting us help illustrate the amazing story you two are writing together. It's always fun when we meet with a couple and immediately feel like they are kindred spirits. This was immediately how Lauren and I felt after meeting you two for the first time last November. Lauren and I know first hand just how strong the bonds that form through music are, and it was fun for us to meet another couple who were brought together through band! 

Lauren and Andrew's Wedding Highlights

One of the greatest honors we can receive as wedding videographers is getting referrals from past couples. We shot one of Lauren's bridesmaids' wedding two years ago, and she passed our info to the couple. It's humbling and exciting to know that our couples love their videos so much that they refer us, and it was awesome to see familiar faces and have a chance to catch up with a past bride! 

Andrew and Lauren's wedding took place at The Pinery at the Hill in Colorado Springs. This was our first time shooting at the venue, and we were very impressed! The building's unique elevated location boasts sweeping views of both downtown and of Pikes Peak, and it has plenty of windows and outdoor patios to take full advantage of these perks (not to mention how spacious and beautiful the interiors all were too!). As wedding creatives, we were swooning from the moment we showed up, and sure enough, it proved to be the perfect setting for Andrew and Lauren's morning prep and gorgeous reception later that evening.  

It was such a pleasure to witness and help capture the marriage of Andrew and Lauren. From the minute we arrived until the grand exit, both of them were positively brimming with joy. While it may be obvious to say that a couple was happy on their wedding day, Andrew and Lauren were exceptional in this regard. There is no better way that I can think of to describe their wedding except that it was full of pure and lovely joy, and it was completely infectious - to us and everyone else at the wedding.

Mikaela and Robert - Wedding Highlight Video

Mikaela and Robert's wedding marked the start of the summer 2018 wedding season, and it was such an amazing way to kick things off. Mikaela and Robert's wedding encapsulated everything that makes wedding video so special and so much fun. Weddings are celebrations of love. The emotions, the excitement and the joy we get to capture are the main reason I shoot weddings, and Mikaela and Robert's love for each other and love for their children showed every second of the day. The day was truly the coming together of two individuals and two families, and it is a deep honor to be a part of it.

The wedding took place at the historic Robison Mansion in Canon City Colorado. I'd never heard of the Robison Mansion before this wedding, and it is now one of my all time favorite wedding venues. It is just all so picturesque, that all the words I can think of to describe it sound like hyperbole. The manicured lawns and the stunning fountain in front of the mansion formed the perfect backdrop for the ceremony, followed up by a reception set among massive old trees and string lights. It is an absolutely fantastic venue. I also want to give a special shout out and thank you to the amazing in house event staff. The folks who work at Robison are as awesome as the venue itself.

Mikaela and Robert - Wedding Preview

Mikaela and Robert's wedding at the historic Robison Mansion in Canon city was such a perfect way to start the 2018 wedding season! The full highlight video will be ready in the next couple of weeks, but we couldn't wait to show off some of the footage, so we put together a quick wedding video preview! 

Robert and Alexa - Wedding Highlights

Robert and Alexa's Christmas time wedding at the Bella Sera Event Center was a highlight of and perfect cap to our amazing 2017 year of weddings.

There were almost too many amazing parts of this day to put into words. Every second of the day was stamped with the couple's unique flair and attitude. The wedding party entered to Jurassic Park and Harry Potter, and the couple exited to Star Wars. The bridesmaids and groomsman gifts were wand and lightsabers, the later of which prompted the impromptu "first duel" I posted a couple of weeks ago. Santa made a surprise appearance to give a gift to the Christmas loving bride. There were smoking cocktails, a hanging cake, a chocolate fountain, a smoke screen for the bride to enter the ceremony through and so much more. 

One of the highlights of shooting weddings are the opportunities that arise to shoot for friends and family. I've known Robert since he was a teenager, and It was such an blessing to get to capture his wedding to his beautiful bride Alexa. They are such an amazing couple, and they had such a beautiful, joy filled day. 

Robert and Alexa, we are so happy for you! Thank you so much for bringing us in to shoot your wedding. It really was an honor to get to be there for so much of the day, and to get to experience it with you. We wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Robert and Alexa - First Duel

This is totally our new favorite wedding tradition.You know, most wedding have first dances... how about a first DUEL!?

Robert and Alexa truly embraced their wedding day with light-hearted fun. Though the day was chock-full of romance and sweet moments, there were plenty of moments like THIS that truly made it spectacular. The full highlight video will be along in a few weeks!

Rachel and Ryan - Wedding Highlights

"What you're doing today, it's about you but it is about so much more. [...] you don't know this but 100 years from now there is a generation that is going to [...] look back on this day and they're going to say thanks be to God that the two of you, Ryan and Rachel, that you found one another that you fell in love, that you said yes, I want to. For now and always. You're giving a gift to the future. And that, my friends, is a very beautiful thing." 

We loved this quote taken from Ryan and Rachel's wedding ceremony. It so beautifully helps put into words the significance and impact that the day has not only for the couple, but for the future family and connections that grow from these two people's love. This is part of why we love getting to film weddings and help capture these important moments. It's hard not to get pulled in emotionally when you think of weddings in this way!

Rachel and Ryan's wedding took place at the Sonnenalp Hotel in Vail, Colorado in the heart of summer. Their ceremony was in a picturesque white steepled church across the street -- the Vail Interfaith Chapel. Emotions aside, we were really blown away by how stunning this weddings was. Every carefully planned detail for their big day was so classy, elegant, and chic. Their reception was one of our favorites EVER!  It took place in an attached glass terrace that had large sliding glass walls AND a sliding glass roof that could all open up to the summer mountain air. Add in dozens of candles, gorgeous, overflowing floral centerpieces, and greenery-laced chandeliers, and you have one dreamy, romantic setting.

Special thanks to all of the awesome vendors we got to work alongside for this wedding. The planner was Cammye from We Tie The Knots, the photography was by Callie Hobbs Photography, and the floral arrangements were by Park Floral Design. The catering, cake and reception venue were all provided by the Sonnenalp Hotel, and the ceremony was at Vail Interfaith Chapel.

Sasha and Joseph - Wedding Highlights

Sasha and Joseph's wedding at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Denver wedding marked the end of our main wedding season, and was the last in an insane marathon of 11 weddings in 9 weeks. I cannot think of a better way to have wrapped up the season. There is just so much I love about this wedding and about this video. 

Sasha and Joseph were so open and emotional, and their love for each other showed every second of the day. We often have couples read notes to each other out loud, and then choose between either notes or the couple's vows to include in the video. For Sasha and Joseph we ended up using both their notes and their vows. Their words to each other were written and spoken so eloquently, and the sentiments and contents were so beautiful, that we didn't want to leave any of it out. Shooting and editing moments like these are what drew me to wedding video in the first place, and Sasha and Joseph's wedding was a perfect example of every reason I love my job. 

Just like the couple, the backdrop for this wedding couldn't have been more amazing. The Ceremony and Reception took place at the Grand Hyatt in downtown Denver, 40 stories above the city. The venue has 360 degree sweeping views that show a full panorama of the mountains and foothills during the day, and a stunning carpet of city lights after sunset. The cherry on top of it all was some of my favorite decor and floral arrangements of the year. Sasha and Joseph chose the somewhat unconventional combination of orange and grey for their wedding colors, which made for some of the most unique, vibrant bouquets I've ever seen.

Kimberly and Dan - Wedding Highlights

Out of all the wonderful weddings we have had the honor of shooting in 2017, this next wedding we have to share is truly a special one. Kimberly and Dan's wedding was one of our favorites all year for many reasons. Let's start off with the location: Granby Ranch, Colorado. Located on the south-western border of Rocky Mountain National Park, Granby Ranch is a charming little ski area, tucked away in one of Colorado's less developed mountain areas. Needless to say, the area is an ideal location for an outdoor mountain wedding. 

After taking a chairlift to the top of the mountain, Kimberly and Dan spent the morning getting ready separately in a canvas gazebo and tent, each nestled back in the forest. Their ceremony was only a short distance away. To get there, you walk a short distance through an aspen grove and come out to a small clearing. At the edge of the clearing, the mountain suddenly drops away, offering unobscured, sweeping views of the landscape before you. Jagged, snow covered mountain peaks make up the horizon with miles of tree-covered hills between. This was the setting where Kimberly and Dan exchanged their vows to each other. If that wasn't good enough, their wedding was in September, so all of the aspen leaves were vibrant shades of yellow, red, orange, and green. It really doesn't get much better than that! 

To top it all off, during their reception, we stole Kimberly and Dan away for a little while and drove a short distance out of the town. We parked and hiked up to the top of a grass covered hill. At the top of the hill, there is a lone wood gazebo and incredible views of the surrounding mountains and valleys. We later found out that this same gazebo was where Kimberly had dreamed of getting married her whole life (how special is that?!). As golden hour set in, Kimberly and Dan got to enjoy a moment alone together on top of this ridge, watching the sunset. It was hands down one of the most beautiful moments of the entire year for us. As the rest of the night carried on, there wasn't a moment that wasn't filled with laughter, smiles and enthusiastic dancing. 

Kimberly and Dan, thank you SO much for entrusting us to help capture your special day! We had so much fun taking part in your wedding, and it was really heartwarming getting to see the enormous amount of faith, love and support you have in the family and friends around you.

Cristina and Scott - Wedding Highlights

We are so pleased to share our latest highlight film of Cristina and Scott's wedding in lovely Boulder, Colorado! The day started a bit overcast, and not long after the ceremony, as we arrived at the reception, the skies opened up and started pouring down rain. It was at this time that we were supposed to be taking photos of everyone on the sprawling golf course. To some, this could have seemed like a total disaster, but Cristina and Scott fully embraced it and went out walking and dancing together in the rain, hand in hand. The sun poked through even as it was still raining steadily, and we were able to capture some gorgeous shots. We were even treated to a spectacular double rainbow afterwards.

At Cristina and Scott's wedding, it was so special to witness not only the couple's strong love for each other, but to also witness everyone else's love for the couple. This day clearly meant so much not only to the couple, but also to everyone else in attendance. It was really cool to see what a loving and supportive community of people that they have around them. Throughout the whole day, everyone was just beaming with joy and love.

Congratulations Cristina and Scott! Thank you so much for letting us capture your wedding. It truly was a beautiful day, and we feel so blessed to have been a part of it!

Zoe and Scott - Wedding Highlight

I have been so exited to get to Zoe and Scott's wedding film ever since I started looking through the footage as I backed it up 3 months ago. It was just one of those weddings where everything that was out of our control went absolutely perfectly -- the settings, the weather, the lighting, and the authentic and expressive love shared by all. 

The day started with lightly drizzling rain and soft white light. By late morning, as we got in the car and drove to nearby Horsetooth Reservoir for the first look,  the rain had ceased and turned into this breathtakingly ethereal scene. There were banks of low-hanging clouds and mist all around the reservoir. Occasionally a golden ray of sunlight would pierce through the clouds and light up the rolling foothills in the distance. The reservoir itself has steeply sloping banks and rocky outcroppings all around it, which make for beautiful vistas in any weather. The entire setting was spectacular. It was truly a moving moment to watch Zoe and Scott get to share their first private moment together in this special place. Their nervous excitement gave way to pure joy and love as they embraced each other, and it didn't leave for the entire rest of the day. By the time that the ceremony started, the clouds had cleared up revealing a classic Colorado blue sky, which continued into the late afternoon as these two celebrated surrounded by their family and friends. It was truly everything that you could hope for in a wedding.

Zoe and Aaron - Wedding Highlights

Of all the weddings that we've had the privilege of shooting this summer, this one was perhaps the most light hearted, playful and downright fun of the bunch! From the convoy of bicycle taxis that the bride and her bridesmaids took through downtown to get from their hotel to the venue, to the colorfully lit rooftop dance party, to ending the night with bowling and midnight pizza, this group knew how to have a good time together.

Zoe and Aaron's wedding took place on the rooftop of the Denver Athletic Club, which is centrally located in downtown Denver. A rooftop gathering was the perfect way to take advantage of the warm summer evening, surrounded by the lights of the sky scrapers. 

Zoe and Aaron were both so sweet and welcoming that it felt more like we were at the wedding of some long-time friends. Congratulations you two! Thanks for bringing us on board to help capture the start of your new chapter together. 

Sasha and Joseph - Wedding Preview

Sasha and Joseph were our last wedding of the 2017 season. Their wedding was on the top floor of the Grand Hyatt in Downtown Denver, with one of the best views of the city and front range that I have ever gotten to see. This view made the perfect backdrop for their first look. I've written before about how the first time the groom and bride see each other is one of the best parts of most weddings. Sasha and Joseph's first look was a perfect example of why I love these moments so much. It was such a beautiful moment of joy and love. 

Congratulations Sasha and Joseph. I can't wait to edit your full video!
