This past spring I was approached by the amazing Meghan at MAG events with an opportunity to be a part of something truly special: a high concept wedding styled shoot structured as a promotional partnership with Moms and Mutts dog rescue, a Colorado based dog rescue specializing in pregnant and nursing dogs with their litters. It was such an amazing opportunity to show that weddings have the potential to be something bigger, beyond just the joining of couple. They are opportunities to bring entire communities together to help rally around causes near and dear to the couples hearts. This sort of activist wedding is one of the trends I’m most excited to see on the rise, and one of the ones that I’m most excited to start seeing in the wild!

Beyond the amazing aspirations for this styled shoot though, it also presented an opportunity for something uniquely fun: A wedding shoot with puppies! We had two amazing couples to work with for the shoot, Jake and Tabitha, and Hanna and Corie. This meant we got to have not one, not two, but THREE gorgeous wedding dresses to capture, and two sets of amazing opportunities for poses with the dogs, including one of my all time favorite wedding film moments: a couple seated on a couch trying to juggle 9 puppies at once! The fun and goofiness of the dogs (including puppies going to town on specially made dog wedding cakes) was such a great counterpoint to the elegant boho aesthetic of the decor, cake and florals. I could literally write paragraphs about all of the incredible details MAG Events put into the day, but I’ll let the videos above do the talking!
